We verify all credit cards before we ship orders. If any information on the credit card fails verification, the order will be rejected.
We DO NOT accept PayPal as a form of payment because the percentage rate is too high. |
DOMESTIC ORDERS (UNITED STATES/CANADA):
- Online and phone orders must be $25.00 or higher in value (NOT including the shipping). Any online order smaller than this amount is subject to being canceled at our discretion because it is generally not worth processing and shipping a sale that is this small.
- In-stock merchandise will normally arrive at your door in 3-6 business days after the order is received and processed on our end. Unforeseen delays happen from time to time, so this can vary occasionally. We are not responsible for delays from the shipper as that is out of our control.
- Business days do not include holidays or weekends.
- Orders will be shipped via UPS Ground or USPS. See Shipping section below for more information regarding it.
- Please see the Pre-Orders section below for more information regarding orders and items in that category.
- Secure SSL ordering.
- West Virginia residents are subject to a 7.0% sales tax. All other states are exempt.
INTERNATIONAL ORDERS (ALL OTHER COUNTRIES):
We will not accept international orders at this time. Sorry for any inconvenience.
PRE-ORDERS:
- Pre-order items are subject to availability from the manufacturer. This includes our limited custom run items and regular cataloged items by the various manufacturers.
- Your credit card will not be charged until your pre-order is ready to ship.
- If you have placed a pre-order and your credit card needs to be updated, please do not hesitate to call the store and update it. It saves time when the item(s) come in and invoices need to be processed.
- If pre-ordered items arrive and we have a bad credit card, we will reach out via phone and email. Please call with updated information (DO NOT SEND IT VIA EMAIL) during store hours. If time has passed (generally two weeks) and you do not respond to our phone call or email requesting updated credit card information, all remaining pre-orders will be canceled.
PRE-ORDER SHIPPING:
- Pre-orders are processed and shipped as the items are received from the manufacturer. We DO NOT hold the items until they are all available as sometimes this takes months to years before an entire pre-order may come in. We try to combine available pre-ordered items into one package to save shipping when possible, but it does not always work out this way. Shipping WILL BE charged each time one of the pre-ordered items becomes available. We do not have the space to house partial orders.
- The shipping amount shown on orders and pre-orders is just an ESTIMATE and can vary depending on final weight, destination, size of package, etc. Please see the SHIPPING section below for more information.
PRE-ORDER CANCELATION:
- If you make a pre-order and decide you no longer wish to keep it, if more than 30 days have passed since the day the pre-order was placed, you are subject to a 15% Cancelation Fee. If the cancelation is requested within the 30 day window, there is no cancelation fee.
- If you cancel two (2) pre-orders with us after the 30 day window has passed, we will no longer do business with you and all outstanding pre-orders you have will be canceled.
SHIPPING:
- We use UPS primarily to ship packages. We also use USPS occasionally and for P.O. Boxes.
- You will receive a tracking number in a Stamps.com email (if you provided a valid email address) after we have processed your order through our shipping software. PLEASE check your Spam folder as sometimes these emails get put there by mistake by your email provider. If they are still not in your Spam folder, your email provider is most likely blocking them on the server before they ever get to your inbox.
- The shipping amount listed on all orders is an ESTIMATE. We have the right to increase the shipping amount if the website estimated shipping will not cover getting your item(s) to you. The shipping location, weight of the package, and size of the package all affect the shipping amount. In extreme situations where the shipping would be a lot higher than the item's value, we will reach out to discuss the situation.
- If you order an item(s) that qualifies for extra shipping and is marked as such in the item's description page, your order may have it's shipping increased due to the extra weight and size of the package.
- Even if an item is not marked for extra shipping, the shipping may still be adjusted depending on the final destination, weight, and size of the package.
- In instances where an order might require two or more boxes to ship, additional shipping is required. Your order will be modified to reflect the extra shipping.

GENERAL:
WE ARE NOT AMAZON. WE ARE A SMALL BUSINESS. If you are not satisfied with your purchase from PatsTrains.com, please call within 7 days of receipt of your order and we will exchange the item or provide a refund minus a 15% restocking fee. No returns will be accepted without prior authorization! Unauthorized packages will be refused and returned to sender.
Merchandise must be in mint condition & in original packing for credit to be issued. If you run an engine or rolling stock that you purchase, IT IS YOURS. You cannot exchange or return items at this point as they are now used and we cannot resell them as a new item.
Shipping charges are non-refundable. Return shipping costs and insurance are the responsibility of the customer. We are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged packages en-route. No credit will be issued if the product shows signs of use or abuse.
We request you allow a 2-3 week turn around time for the issuance of credit for a return or the shipping of an exchange.
DEFECTIVE ITEM:
If an item we sent you has an issue, please contact us by phone as soon as possible after receiving it for further instruction.
The customer is responsible for return shipping to us and we will pay the return shipping to the customer.
The defective item will be repaired or replaced depending on the situation at hand.
